A true heritage of biodiversity. This part of the Tuscan Coast is characterized both by the powerful personality of its wines and by the presence of historical, native grape varieties that are at risk of extinction.
Here, Vermentino finds one of its greatest expressions of character in the entire Mediterranean. There are no concessions to sweet, cliché aromas or often cloying, alcoholic sweetness; instead, it offers full sapidity, a saline edge, and herbaceous and mentholated fragrances, all backed by a solid and seamless structure.
This is entirely shaped by the limestone soils, the proximity to the sea, and the protective shield of the Apuan Alps. Many speak of minerality in these wines, and the concept is profoundly tangible here.
Vermentino is joined by local companions such as Durella, Albarola, Verdarella, and the legendary Luadga. Meanwhile, among the reds, varieties like Pollera Nera, Merla, Massaretta, and Vermentino Nero are common.
